Prepare to come aboard Australia’s largest defence program

Over the last few months, Naval Group Australia has attended fourteen career fairs, spanning across five states in the search for our future workforce.

Two years ago Naval Group was selected by the Australian Government as the international partner for the design and build of 12 regionally superior submarines for the Royal Australian Navy. Since then the company has grown to 88 employees and it is expected to grow to over 1,500 people at the height of the program.

“We want to increase awareness of the Future Submarine Program (FSP) and the exciting opportunities available within the program for the current and future workforce,” said Rachel Botting, General Manager Human Resources.

“We also want to excite interest in the continuation of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects amongst primary and high school students – who are the future leaders of the FSP,” said Rachel.

The design and build phases of the FSP will span across 50 years and then the sustainment period is predicted to continue into the 2080s, promising lifelong career opportunities.

“As part of our team, people will have the opportunity to work on the largest Defence contract in Australia’s history, build a long term career path and work alongside some of the brightest technical minds France and Australia has to offer,” said Rachel.

There are over 30 career opportunities with Naval Group as part of the FSP – can you see yourself in any of these roles?

To make an immensely complex project like the FSP a reality, we’ll need thousands of skilled workers.

Visit our careers page to view current opportunities with the company, or submit an expression of interest to be considered for future roles. We encourage anyone with the necessary skills and passion to deliver twelve regionally superior submarines to apply.
