Australia’s Future Submarine partner, DCNS, has welcomed Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s veteran’s jobs initiative announced earlier today.
The veteran’s employment program will help raise awareness of the contributions our veterans can make to business in their post-service life.
“This program will help effectively translate the unique skills, experiences and attributes of those who have served in Australia’s Defence Force and assist them in finding meaningful and long term employment,” said Sean Costello, Chief Executive Officer, DCNS Australia.
Over the next 20 years the Government will invest over $89 billion in ships and submarines for the Navy.
This critical investment will generate significant economic growth and sustain several thousand Australian jobs over decades.
“The ability to draw on a dedicated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic workforce will ensure we have the necessary level of understanding and skills to effectively deliver a regionally superior submarine at the whole warship level to the Royal Australian Navy,” said Mr Costello.
