Creating a workforce with the capabilities and skills to design, build and sustain Australia’s Future Submarine Program is critical to our national development and capability.
As a nation, it is imperative we create a pipeline of qualified and skills Australia’s who can support The Program from the ground up.
Naval Group has partnered with Power Community Ltd, the not-for-profit charity arm of the Port Adelaide Football Club, to unlock and expand the pool of talent required to deliver The Program.
Our Power of STEM program sees year 10 students engage with and be inspired by specialists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields that provide an insight into the opportunities available to them now and into the future. Specialists include representatives from the Naval Group Australia engineering team involved in the design of the 12 Attack class submarines for the Royal Australian Navy.
The Community Youth Program seeks representatives from Naval Group Australia meet with over 30,000 primary school students each year to promote positive messages around STEM, health and wellbeing.
Both programs are rolled out to students in metropolitan Adelaide, right through to remote communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Naval Group has been a proud major sponsor of Power Community Ltd since 2018.
By developing our future generations with STEM-focused skills, we are preparing them for the jobs of the future and ensuring job stability and security for generations.
