It goes without saying that as one of the world’s most advanced marine technology companies, innovation is at the core of our business, and always has been. Innovative thinking is critical for building and sustaining the capability Australian industry needs to deliver a regionally superior submarine.
How much do we value innovation? Innovation is at the core of Naval Group’s DNA. Each year, we spend between 8% and 10% of our turnover on R&D.
Working with SMEs is central to Naval Group’s R&D policy. Naval Group is committed to:
We’re also excited to be implementing the Federal Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda, building on the momentum of Australia’s current ideas boom.
Ultimately, our vision is to create a sovereign and sustainable industrial base to deliver innovative solutions over the life cycle of the submarine.
The Naval Group Industry & Innovation Portal
As a way of celebrating and promoting innovation during Australia’s ideas boom, we’ve created the Naval Group Industry & Innovation Portal.
Here’s how it works.
If you have an idea, you can share it on the Portal with an online community of engaged and focused participants. You can also partake in group discussions on a variety of topics and other ideas.
Naval Group also uses the Portal as a means of communicating with its industry and innovation stakeholders, so if you want to be the first to hear about the nation-wide series of Australia’s Future Submarine industry briefings, then sign-up.
What sort of ideas can you share? Think anything innovative. Maybe you have new ways for French and Australian companies to work more effectively together. Or fresh methods for SMEs to be heard in a market dominated by defence primes. Or perhaps you have a novel approach to encourage ideal conditions for innovation in the Future Submarine supply chain. Whatever your big idea, the Industry and Innovation Portal will put it in the spotlight.
