Naval Group has taken part in Science Alive! Geelong 2019 to inspire our future through Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
Creating a workforce with the capabilities to design, build and sustain the Future Submarine Program is critical to our national development and capability.
Over the three day inaugural Science Alive! event in Geelong, the Naval Group Australia team engaged with over 6,000 students and parents and reinforced the importance of STEM focused qualifications for the jobs of today, and the jobs of tomorrow.
Attendees lined up at the Naval Group Australia stand keen to experience our submarine augmented reality app where they designed, built and tested and drove their very own submarine.

Naval Group Australia’s Mark Dowd, Transfer of Technology Training Manager, presented to a network of teachers from across Australia to discuss the many hidden STEM resources at their disposal. Mark emphasized the role teachers can play in championing STEM in schools and working with students to empower them and build skills for the future.
Science Alive!Geelong was a fantastic preview to Science Alive! Adelaide which will take place at Showgrounds from 3-4 August and has been growing in popularity every year since its inception in 2006.
